Bloggin' - it's wild! Seems like everyone is doing it these days. And by far, too many of those wannabe writers out there have too little to say... At the risk of joining that club, I decided it's about time to exhibit my life as well. At least for the next six months... which I will be spending in fabulous NEW YORK to do a theater course and write my bachelor thesis, whohooooo!!! The city that never sleeps - it's overwhelming, exciting, frigthening, crazy, beyond words and still totally unrealistic that I will be part of it... And that's why I wanna share this experience with all you crazy beloved guys (because I love to share, don't I, Cori?!) If I could, I would have taken you all with me, of course, but unfortunately the maximum weight on the plane was 23 kg, and since I'm gonna shop some decent shoes here I'll need all the space in my suitcase! But chin up, this miracle of modern age called internet will keep you updated!

Happy St. Paddy's Day (belated)

Yesterday I had the most amazing St. Paddy's Day (well, it was the first I ever celebrated but definitely not my last)! I didn't even want to go and see the parade all by myself in the first place - but thank god I did because it turned out to be a great day! Not only was the weather beautiful (I just wore a T-shirt), I also met 3 super nice New Yorker girls at the parade (guess what, they're half Sicilians as well and have been to Heidelberg, the world is so small). After having cheered to zillion of firemen in posh uniforms, Irish dancers, singers and musicians, we went to a übercrowded Irish pub to have a cup of green beer (they actually dye the beer green for the day, let alone green cookies, cupcakes and sponge cakes...). The girls invited me to come to their place afterwards to have an Irish dinner, which was just yummy! Seems like everyone is at least part Irish on St Paddy's Day - or they just need an excuse to celebrate and get drunk at 3 pm... Anyway, it was a great day and I'm glad I went to the parade and met such nice people (once again, I'm astonished about how easily I got to meet really great people in this big city). Check out the pics from the parade and our dinner:
I didn't have anything green to wear (which really made me an exception, everyone else was covered in green... but at least I had a green sticker on my right eye : )

The three ladies I met: the twins Vanessa and Valerie and their friend Jasmine

Green cupcakes - too sweet for me (the frosting on top gives you a sugar rush!)

And here are my roommates Jasmine (on my left) and Alma (with the white cup)

Excuses in advance if I don't write too much over the next week, but my first visitor is arriving today, yeah! For the next 10 days I will be accompanied by my sweet Floriana, yippie : )
