First impressions

Ok, so it's already my 4th day in this crazy city... And a lot of stuff happened over the last few days (btw if you're wondering why I'm writing in English - it's just the easiest way to make this blog accessible to all my friends and family in Italy, Brazil, France, USA and wherever you may be).
The most important thing today: I've found an apartment, whohooooo!!! So this is my last night in a hostel : ) Although it was pretty cool here, I met some amazing people and the location is unbeatable, all the main sights are in walking distance. So, tomorrow morning I'm moving to Brooklyn (unfortunately, living in Manhatten is a little bit beyond my budget). But it's just across the bridge and next to Williamsburg, the 'it' neighborhood of Brooklyn and New York, where all the party, arts and young people are. I'm still in a kind of shock condition because of this absolutely overwhelming city - I've never seen such tall buildings, crazy and diverse people on the streets (it even tops London...), so much traffic, different colors, smells and impressions... I guess it'll take a while until I can realize all this.
Here are just a few first impressions to give you a glimpse of what I'm experiencing right now:

View on Manhattan from the plane - looks a little bit like a playmobil miniature, doesn't it?!

 

7th avenue - the closer you come to Central Park, the higher the buildings!

 

5th ave - our future shopping mekka, Flo!!! (when we're rich...)

 

The street where my hostel is located - typical New York town houses with fire escape (just like in the movies)

More to come tomorrow, I gotta go dress up, I'm going out with some people from the hostel : )
